Energy-In versus Energy-Out… If you expend more energy out of your body by exercising and being active, than the energy you put into your body (food) you will lose weight. Inversely if you expend less energy out than the food you put in you will gain weight. How you maximize energy levels is by eating smaller portions, more times throughout the day. We should be eating between 5 to 7 times each day, depending on your daily routine. Eating every 3 to 4 hours will keep your energy level at an optimal rate.
Emotion cannot play a part in nutrition. We eat for nourishment only…so no matter what brussels sprouts or broccoli taste like, we eat them because they are good for us. Too much of any one thing is never good, so consume a proper balance of carbohydrates, proteins, vegetables and fruits. Eat minimal, if any fried foods and be careful not to saturate with oils or over-cook. Over cooking will deplete healthy foods of their nutrients.
Consult a certified professional before altering your diet to either gain or lose weight.
